Short Bio

I am currently Professor of Information Systems in the Management of Technology and Strategy department at the Grenoble Ecole de Management in beautiful Grenoble (France). My current research, teaching and consulting interests focus on the strategic application of information systems and the use of Internet technology to enable customer service.

My research has appeared in MIS Quarterly, Decision Sciences Journal, MIS Quarterly Executive, Communications of the ACM, Harvard Business Review, The DATABASE for Advances in Information Systems, The Cornell Hotel and Restaurant Administration Quarterly, as well as other academic and applied journals. I have also served as ad hoc reviewer for a number of journals in the field and serves on the editorial board of the Cornell Hotel and Restaurant Administration Quarterly.

I spent the bulk of my career at the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University, where I received indefinite tenure. I also held positions as Associate Professor of Information Syestems in the Department of Economics, Enterprise and Regulation at the University of Sassari, Adjunct Professor of Information Systems at the AB Freeman School of Business at Tulane University in New Orleans, and as instructor at the EJ Ourso College of Business at Louisiana State University where I received my Ph.D. in Business Administration, with emphasis in Management Information Systems. My dissertation is titled: Virtual Teams: An Investigation of the Determinants of Team Effectiveness and the Contribution of Managerial Behavior Control. I hold a Master of Business Administration from the EJ Ourso College of Business at Louisiana State University, and a Laurea in Economia e Commercio (Economics and Business Administration) from Universita' di Pavia. I graduated with a senior thesis titled: Positive Accounting Theory and the Information Content of Net Income Announcements: The Case of the Milan Stock Exchange.

I am actively involved in the profession as a former manager of the ISWorld Mailing List, a global mailing list of about 3,000 academics and professionals in Management Information Systems and I have served on organizing committees for ICIS 2001 and ICIS 2002. I am also a member of the ACM, AIS and INFORMS.
